Friday Night Lights

Once a week during the fall in the small town of Odessa, Texas, USA, the town and its dreams come alive beneath the dazzling and disorienting Friday night lights of the football field when their high school team the Panthers get ready to play with all 20,000 townsfolk watching. Friday Night Lights follows the 1988 season of the Permian High Panthers football team and their players, coaches, mothers, fathers, boosters, fans and families as they struggle with ongoing personal conflicts while the team fights for a state championship. In spite of losing a star player early in the season, coach Gary Gaines is determined to push his players to become a winning team and elevate the potential destinies of its individual players, young men for whom every moment and every play is a chance to transcend their small town and reach stardom.
